Indiana Medicaid runs through the Family and Social Services Administration, with policy responsibility sitting inside its Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning. For older adults, the program to know is Indiana PathWays for Aging, the statewide managed long-term-services-and-supports program — CMS lists its waiver as effective July 1, 2024 and approved through June 30, 2029.
PathWays is now the operating framework for Medicaid members age 60 and older who need either nursing-facility care or home- and community-based services. But its arrival doesn't remove the underlying eligibility questions — a person still has to fit the right Medicaid category and meet the required level of care before PathWays coverage applies.
