Who we are
Funding LTC Marketplace is an insurance-marketplace website published by Central States Insurance Services, Inc. and led by founder George A. Mellendorf. It is the marketplace companion to our educational sister site, FundingDependency.com. Funding LTC Marketplace helps consumers compare long-term care insurance coverage; it is not a law firm or financial institution, and nothing on this site is legal, financial, or medical advice. This policy explains how information is handled when you visit fundingltcmarketplace.com.
Information we collect
We collect information in a few ways, depending on how you use the site:
- Automatically, via analytics. This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which pages are useful and how visitors find the site. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect standard usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location (city/region level), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site (for example, from a search engine). We have not enabled advertising or remarketing features in Google Analytics, and we do not use this data to identify you personally.
- The free consumer guide download. If you request the downloadable guide, How to Fund Long-Term Care: A Consumer's Guide, we ask for your name, email, phone number, and whether you are a consumer or an insurance professional before releasing the PDF. That information is sent to our team by email so we can follow up and, if you are a consumer, offer help comparing coverage.
- The quote-comparison request. If you use the "Get a Free Quote" form, we collect your name, email, phone number, and the coverage details you choose to share (such as age, spouse's age, marital status, and state), so a licensed insurance professional can prepare a comparison and follow up with you.
- The Ask a Question chat tool. This site includes a self-service chat widget that answers questions by matching your question to existing pages on this site — it does not use a third-party AI service and does not send your questions anywhere. Before first use, we ask for your name and email (and, optionally, phone number) to unlock the chat on your device; that contact information is sent to our team by email, similar to our other forms, so we can follow up if helpful. Your name is also saved in your browser's local storage so the chat stays unlocked on that device — see "Cookies and third-party services" below.
- Information you provide directly. If you email us or otherwise reach out, we receive whatever you choose to share, typically your name, email address, phone number, and the message or questions you write.
How we use this information
- To follow up on quote requests, guide downloads, and chat sign-ups with relevant coverage information and comparisons.
- To respond to messages sent by email.
- To understand, in aggregate, which pages and topics are most helpful to visitors, so we can improve the content.
- To maintain the security and normal technical operation of the site.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share information submitted through our forms or chat tool with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Cookies and third-party services
The main third-party service in use is Google Analytics, which sets cookies in your browser to distinguish visitors and sessions. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visit by using your browser's cookie controls, a browser extension such as Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by enabling "Do Not Track" / equivalent privacy settings where supported.
The Ask a Question chat widget uses your browser's local storage (not a tracking cookie) to remember that you've already provided your name and email, so you are not asked again on every page. Clearing your browser's site data will remove this and prompt the sign-up step again the next time you open the chat.
Blocking cookies or clearing local storage will not affect your ability to read the site — it may only require you to re-enter your name and email to reopen the chat tool.
Data retention
We keep different categories of information for different lengths of time, based on why it was collected:
- Analytics data (Google Analytics). Retained for 14 months from each visit, per our Google Analytics configuration, and then automatically deleted by Google. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
- Quote requests and guide-download submissions. The name, email, phone number, and coverage details you provide are retained for up to 24 months from your submission so a licensed insurance professional can follow up and for recordkeeping, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
- Ask a Question chat sign-up. The name, email, and optional phone number you provide to unlock the chat are emailed to our team and retained the same way as other lead submissions (up to 24 months). Separately, your name is stored in your own browser's local storage indefinitely, or until you clear your browser's site data or use the chat's own reset control — that copy never leaves your device and is not retained on our servers.
- Direct correspondence. Emails you send us are retained for up to 3 years for customer service, recordkeeping, and legal-compliance purposes, unless a shorter period is requested and reasonably possible.
In every case, you can ask us to delete your information sooner by emailing hello@fundingltcmarketplace.com, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it longer for legal, security, or accounting reasons.
Your choices
- You can browse every page on this site without providing any personal information.
- You can opt out of analytics tracking using the browser controls described above.
- You can decline to use the quote form, guide download, or chat tool — none of them are required to read the site's educational content.
- You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, by emailing hello@fundingltcmarketplace.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.
California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives you the following rights over the personal information described above:
- Right to know. You can ask what personal information we have collected about you, the categories and sources of that information, and the purposes for collecting it.
- Right to delete. You can ask us to delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain legal exceptions (for example, information we must keep for recordkeeping or legal compliance).
- Right to correct. You can ask us to correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information and do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of today; if that ever changes, this policy will be updated and an opt-out option will be provided.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes beyond what CCPA/CPRA permits without limitation.
- Right to non-discrimination. We will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@fundingltcmarketplace.com from the email address associated with your request. We may need to verify your identity (for example, by confirming the email address or phone number you previously provided) before completing a request. You may also designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may ask the agent for proof of that authorization. We will respond within the timeframe required by California law.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for adults comparing long-term care insurance coverage for themselves or a family member. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and we take reasonable technical measures to protect any information submitted to us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
