VA Aid & Attendance isn't a separate benefit check — it's a raised ceiling, called the Maximum Annual Pension Rate (MAPR), layered onto the existing VA pension for wartime veterans and surviving spouses who need help with everyday activities, are bedridden, live in a nursing home because of a disability, or have severe vision loss. The VA pays the gap between that ceiling and the claimant's own countable income, which means the published rates represent a maximum, not a guaranteed monthly payment (VA, Aid and Attendance and Housebound benefits).
