Florida Home Care Medicaid

For care delivered at home rather than in a facility, Florida runs its Medicaid dollars through the Statewide Medicaid Managed Care Long-Term Care program, known as SMMC LTC. Once someone is enrolled, they pick a Medicaid long-term care plan, and that plan is required to authorize, at minimum, a defined set of services: personal care, homemaker assistance, adult day care, assisted living facility services, home-delivered meals, respite care, case management, various therapies, medication management, transportation, and a personal emergency response system. This baseline benefit package is set out in Florida Statutes Section 409.98.
