Appendix C-1 currently sets the long-term-care income standard at $2,982 a month and the individual resource standard at $2,000. It also grants a $75 monthly maintenance allowance to anyone living in a nursing facility or ICF/IID — money the resident can keep for personal needs. That $75 figure, though, is nowhere near a full budget; actually calculating what a patient owes toward their care requires real income figures, medical deductions, spousal information, and the specific care setting.
