ARChoices in Homecare is Arkansas's main in-home Medicaid waiver, built to serve people age 65 and older along with adults age 21 through 64 who have a physical disability. To qualify, an applicant has to meet the program's financial criteria, demonstrate the intermediate level of care that would otherwise require nursing-home admission, and actually need at least one of the services the program offers.
The service list itself is fairly broad: attendant care, home-delivered meals, a personal emergency response system, adult day services, adult day health, respite care, and environmental modifications are all part of what ARChoices covers. A federal CMS waiver factsheet confirms the same core population — older adults and adults with physical disabilities who meet a nursing-facility level of care. Living Choices assisted living is Arkansas's other main community alternative, offering a different setting with its own financial and level-of-care criteria.
