VA Aid & Attendance is a federal add-on to a qualifying veteran's or survivor's monthly VA pension. The VA extends it to pension recipients who need help with basic daily activities like bathing, feeding, or dressing, who are bedridden, who are in a nursing home because of a disability-related mental or physical limitation, or who meet a specific visual-impairment standard (U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Aid & Attendance guidance).
One VA rule to know: a person can't collect Aid & Attendance and Housebound benefits at the same time.
