Connecticut's Medicaid coverage for older adults, people with disabilities, and working adults with disabilities goes by the name HUSKY C. According to the Department of Social Services, HUSKY C bundles in long-term services and supports (LTSS) for people over 65 or living with a disability, including skilled nursing-home care and Medicaid home- and community-based services. That's the program name to reach for when discussing Connecticut Medicaid long-term care, even though any given service route may carry its own internal waiver code.

Eligibility isn't decided by age alone. DSS identifies Connecticut residency plus being 65 or older, blind, or disabled as the threshold pathways into the program, and it notes that the specific income and asset rules depend on which part of HUSKY C a person is applying under. Being admitted to a nursing facility, having a financially supportive adult child, or holding a private insurance policy doesn't by itself establish eligibility — DSS still runs its full financial and program review.
