# Rhode Island Home Care Medicaid

Rhode Island's LTSS program isn't confined to nursing facilities. Anyone who reaches the 'Highest' level of care can choose home- and community-based services instead, and the state's 'High' level-of-care service list — homemaker and CNA services, home modifications, special medical equipment, meal delivery, personal emergency response, case management, senior companion services, assisted living, personal care, self-direction, respite care, and minor assistive devices — gives a real sense of the breadth available.

Once eligibility is established, EOHHS offers three delivery models: managed long-term services and supports, fee-for-service Medicaid, and self-direction. The named managed-care options are Neighborhood INTEGRITY and PACE, with PACE built for people 55 or older who qualify for Medicaid LTSS and are assessed at a High or Highest level of care. Choosing self-direction means working with an EOHHS-developed budget and a fiscal intermediary rather than a traditional agency.
