# Nevada Nursing Home Medicaid

Last updated 2026-10-20

Nursing-facility care sits among the services Nevada Medicaid is required to cover, according to the Nevada Health Authority. The agency describes these facilities as providing a full spectrum of nursing support — everything from intermediate-level assistance through skilled nursing care — for people whose needs go well beyond basic room and board.

Simply being admitted to a facility, though, doesn't by itself unlock Medicaid coverage. Nevada's placement process for nursing-facility residents runs through a PASRR screening and an FA-19 Level of Care Assessment, with the facility handling tracking documentation as part of what gets submitted. Families should expect this functional review to run in parallel with — not instead of — the financial application, since both have to clear before coverage is in place.
