# Nebraska Medicaid Asset Limits

Last updated 2026-10-20

Nebraska DHHS's 2026 income, resource, and program-standards document sets the AABD/Medicaid resource limit at $4,000 for a single person and $6,000 for a two-person household. Those are the starting figures, not a full accounting of what actually counts — ownership rules, availability, program-specific exclusions, and marital considerations still require a case-by-case look.

The state's general public eligibility page notes that several resource categories don't count toward that limit at all: a home, one motor vehicle, business property, and an irrevocable burial fund are called out as examples. That said, this general overview shouldn't be treated as a shortcut past the separate home-equity and transfer rules that specifically govern long-term-care cases — those are distinct questions that a nursing-facility or waiver application still has to answer.
