# Georgia Nursing Home Medicaid

Nursing Facility Medicaid is Georgia's name for its institutional long-term-care pathway, and — consistent with how the state structures long-term services generally — it's delivered through fee-for-service Medicaid rather than through the Georgia Families managed-care plan that covers most other enrollees (Georgia LTSS overview; Medicaid.gov Georgia program factsheet).

Every nursing-facility admission has to clear a PASRR screening first. Georgia splits that process into two levels: Alliant Health Solutions handles Level I screening, and Beacon Health Options takes over for Level II (Georgia LTSS overview).

The financial side of the application is handled separately from the clinical side. DFCS makes the financial-eligibility call, while DCH remains the single state agency responsible for overall Medicaid policy (Georgia Department of Community Health; DCH Medicaid Managed Care).
